We visited the Rolling Ridge Ranch Animal Park in Aug 2008. They use a horse-drawn covered wagon for the wildlife safari, leaving you free to roam on both sides to feed the animals. This is the way to go. Best bet is to go early in the morning so the animals are hungry and will be all around the wagon. We took another ride after lunch and there were very few that came up to the wagon.
After the safari you can bring your own food to picnic in their covered pavilion. Then the kids can spend the rest of the day in the petting zoo with the goats, sheep, donkeys and baby chicks. This is one of our favorites.
